AI literacy

AI literacy for interviewers and reviewers

Material to help the people on a hiring team understand the AI they are using. Article 4 of the EU AI Act, in force since 2 February 2025, concerns AI literacy; any duty it creates is for each company to assess with its own counsel. Riwork provides material to help. This page does not say that the Act applies to any company or that using it meets any requirement.

What AI literacy means here

  • Know what the tool does. Riwork asks interview questions, converts speech to text and writes a draft assessment of the words said, with evidence.
  • Know what it does not do. It does not analyse faces, emotion or voice tone, and it does not decide anything about a candidate.
  • Know where it can be wrong. It can mishear, misread, over- or under-score and summarise thin evidence confidently. See the known limitations in the methodology.
  • Know your part. A person reviews every candidate and makes the decision, and can disagree with the draft.

A checklist to run with your team

  • Each reviewer has read how Riwork chooses questions and writes assessments (the methodology page).
  • Each reviewer knows the assessment is a draft and reads the transcript and evidence, not the score alone.
  • Each reviewer can name what Riwork does not analyse: faces, emotions, voice tone, body language.
  • Each reviewer knows speech-to-text can mishear, especially with accents, noise, names and technical terms.
  • The team has decided how a candidate asks for a human alternative or an adjustment, and has put that contact in the notice.
  • The team knows where to see and answer a candidate's request for review, and who does it.
  • The team has chosen a retention period and knows how to delete or export one candidate.
  • The team has a note of who was shown this material and when.

What Riwork provides

  • The methodology: questions, assessment, limitations.
  • The explainability statement: data flow, sub-processors, human control.
  • Trust & data: what is collected and for how long.
  • A draft AI-use notice generator and a reviewer view that shows evidence next to each score.
