Prep pack

Interview prep: Large enterprise

Large, established organisations with defined roles, formal processes and many stakeholders.

These packs describe general patterns for a type of organisation. They are not about any specific employer, and processes vary a lot. Always follow the instructions you are given for your own interview.

What interviews can look like

  • Structured interviews with consistent questions and several people involved.
  • Emphasis on working within process, compliance and cross-team coordination.
  • Competency-style questions that ask for specific past examples.

What to show

  • Reliable delivery and following through.
  • Working with many stakeholders and keeping them informed.
  • Respecting process while still improving it.
  • Clear, structured communication.

How to prepare

  • Prepare STAR stories mapped to common competencies: teamwork, problem solving, communication, accountability.
  • Keep answers structured and about two minutes long.
  • Read the job description closely; structured interviews often follow it.
  • Prepare an example of influencing without authority.

Questions you could ask

  • How does this role fit into the wider team and who will I work with most?
  • How is performance and progress discussed?
  • What does onboarding look like?
  • What development routes exist from this role?

Watch out for

  • Answers that are too informal or rambling for a structured format. Stick to the shape.
